Industry Update: Static Electricity is Re-charged

At ArcWear, we have seen an increasing number of fabrics with anti-stat fiber content, so it comes as no surprise that the materials have sparked interest for industry re-evaluations regarding wearables and static electricity.

Coming this fall, after years of dormancy, The AATCC’s Static electricity group will re-emerge. The group in attendance will be discussing new questions and concerns surrounding the now dated standards – TM84 Electrical Surface Resistivity of Fabrics, TM84 Electrical resistance of Yarns, and TM 115 Electrostatic Clinging of Fabrics: Fabric-to-Metal Test – as well as development of new standards.
