ASTM F1930 - Flash Fire Manikin Test

ASTM F1930, Standard Test Method for Evaluation of Flame-Resistant Clothing for Protection Against Fire Simulations Using an Instrumented Manikin, is a large-scale flash fire manikin test cited by NFPA 2112 and ASTM F2733 for rainwear. The method uses a stationary, sensored manikin in a flash fire exposure to predict burn injury based on a theoretical skin burn model using the Stoll Curve. The requirement when testing to the NFPA 2112 Flash Fire PPE standard is a maximum of 50% total body burn, and the maximum when testing materials to the ASTM F2733 Flash Fire Rainwear standard is 40%.

ArcWear can arrange ASTM F1930 testing with two partner labs and can have coveralls made to the specific pattern dimensions required by NFPA 2112, ASTM F2733 and ASTM F1930.
