ASTM F1002

ASTM F1002 is the Standard Performance Specification for Protective Clothing and Materials for Use by Workers Exposed to Specific Molten Substances and Related Thermal Hazards. The document includes design, performance, and labeling criteria for primary and secondary apparel used in operations with molten substances. Primary materials are tested to ASTM F955 Standard Test Method for Evaluating Heat Transfer through Materials for Protective Clothing Upon Contact with Molten Substances and secondary materials are tested to the less stringent ISO 9185 Assessment of resistance of materials to molten metal splash. ArcWear works with University of Alabama at Birmingham and the University of Kentucky to perform testing to ASTM F955.
