NIOSH 42 CFR Part 84 - Type N-Series Respirator Testing
NIOSH 42 Part 84 regulates the sale of N-Series for non-powered air-purifying respirators. NIOSH regulates all products sold in the US but end users and competitors checking market products have turned to Kinectrics for our NIOSH-type respirator testing. Kinectrics testing has been useful for type testing and production testing checks or pre-test requirements before submission to NIOSH for certification. Kinectrics is one of the fastest turn N-Series (e.g. N95) respirator testing labs in the world. We perform NIOSH 42 CFR 84 Type testing to both the US and the Canadian requirements including the following tests:
- ASTM F2299 Particulate Filtration Efficiency (PFE)
- ASTM F1862 Resistance to Synthetic Blood Penetration
- EN 14683 Differential Pressure (Breathability/ΔP)
- TEB-APR-STP-0003 Determination of Exhalation Resistance Test, Air-Purifying Respirators
- TEB-APR-STP-0007 Determination of Inhalation Resistance Test, Air-Purifying Respirators
- TEB-APR-STP-0059 Determination of Particulate Filter Efficiency Level for N95 Series Filters Against Solid Particulates for Non-Powered, Air-Purifying Respirators
- NIOSH Type Fit Testing
- Mechanical Strength Testing of the Head Strap
- Biocompatibility (with our testing partners) to ISO 10993-5 and ISO 10993-10
