NFPA 2112 is open for public comment for the 2023 revision cycle of the standard. The window for public comments will close on June 30, 2020. If there is a change you’d like to see considered for the next edition, you can create a free account at www.nfpa.org, and view NFPA 2112, Standard on Flame-Resistant Clothing for Protection of Industrial Personnel Against Short-Duration Thermal Exposures from Fire to submit a public comment. This is the first stage in the revision process, and all submitted comments must be considered by the technical committee.
This standard is used for workwear designed for protection from short-duration thermal exposures from fire, like flash fires, and the 2018 edition added gloves, shrouds, hoods and balaclavas to the scope. ArcWear is a third-party testing laboratory and sits on the technical committee for NFPA 2112. We partner with SEI to offer third-party garment certification for NFPA 2112; contact us for details.
