ASTM F2700 - Heat Transfer Performance (HTP)
ISO 17492 - Thermal Transfer Performance (TPP)

ASTM F2700, Standard Test Method for Unsteady-State Heat Transfer Evaluation of Flame Resistant Materials for Clothing with Continuous Heating, is a small scale test method used to evaluate the heat transfer performance of a fabric or a composite. Both spaced and contact configurations may be used in evaluation. A continuous and constant heat source is used at an exposure of 84 kW/m2 (2.0 cal/cm2s). This test is one method required for compliance by NFPA 2112. This standard is similar to TPP (Thermal Protective Performance) of ISO 17492 Clothing for protection against heat and flame – Determination of heat transmission on exposure to both flame and radiant heat both standards are part of the expertise of the ArcWear Team.
