ASTM D5587 - Trapezoidal Tear
ASTM D5587 is a trapezoid tear procedure using a constant rate of extension instrument (CRE). It is used to determine the tearing strength of nonwoven materials and some other materials. The ASTM D5733 test method was withdrawn, but that method is still cited for use by some specifications. Most standards now cite ASTM D5587.
